toeic phrasal verbs Oct 01, 2023

Your knowledge of phrasal verbs will certainly be tested on the TOEIC® exam. Catch On is one of the phrasal verbs that often appears in Part V and Part VI.

Catch on has a few meanings, but for this lesson, catch on means to understand something.

  1. The students in this class always catch on quickly.
  2. The teacher’s clear explanation made it easy for the students to catch on.
  3. My French language skills are not good enough to catch on to what the speakers were discussing at the conference.

👉 Keep in mind the best way to remember phrasal verbs like this in English is to take the phrasal verb, write it in a sentence that's true for you or true in your world, and then memorize your sentences.

👉 You can even take your sentences and write them in the comments below. I would love to see your examples.
